How does it work?
Stay out of hospital and recover sooner from your illness or operation, from the comfort of your own home.
At Union Health we have contracts with a number of providers of programs that provide tailored treatment options. Before or during your hospital stay tell your doctor and nursing staff that you can access our programs.
They'll assess your situation and advise if the program is medically appropriate for you. With your consent, your doctor or nursing staff will contact a program coordinator (registered nurse), who works closely with you and the hospital to organise the appropriate services.

Antibiotic therapy
Palliative care
Negative pressure therapy
Orthopaedic rehabilitation program
Respiratory rehabilitation program
Cardiac rehabilitation program
Reconditioning rehabilitation program
This service is available if you have hospital cover and the hospital treatment or procedure is covered by your policy. A waiting period of two months applies.

If you have one of our hospital policies that include joint replacement cover and have served your 12-month waiting period, you may be eligible for no out-of-pocket costs* with Short Stay Joint Replacement Program.
Personalised pre-habilitation and early engagement with East Sydney Private Hospital clinical team, focuses on preparing patients physically and mentally for surgery.
