Frequently Asked Questions
Our agreement with Toowoomba Private Day Hospital ended on 2 February 2026. As a result, admission to this hospital may now involve higher out-of-pocket costs. More details about this change are provided below.
We’re sincerely sorry for any impact this outcome may have on you.
As with all hospital agreements, we started negotiating new terms well before the contract was due to end. During these negotiations, we always advocate for our members by resisting unfair increases to hospital charges. Because such increases would ultimately impact your premiums.
Unfortunately, in this case – despite our best efforts – we’ve been unable to agree on terms that we believe to be fair.
The group operates Toowoomba Private Day Hospital in Queensland, where you can access same-day surgical care.
There’ll be no change if your hospital admission is:
- Pre-booked before 2 February 2026 for an admission before 2 August 2026
- An emergency admission up to and including 1 May 2026.
There's no change for ongoing courses of treatment (that’s already started) up until and including 1 August 2026.
If your treatment is scheduled past 2 August 2026, please speak to your specialist about alternative hospitals.
You can still claim for admissions at Toowoomba Private Day Hospital, but as with any non-agreement hospital treatment you may have significant out-of-pocket costs.
The hospital would need to explain these to you and get your informed financial consent (in writing) to those charges.
Alternatively, you may want to seek treatment at a hospital we do have an agreement with. This can help you access a high standard of care with minimal out-of-pocket costs.
