If you're thinking about having a baby, it’s important to check that you’re covered for maternity and assisted reproductive services. We recommend choosing from one of these covers:

Silver + Family Hospital with Mid-Range Extras
Silver + Family Hospital with Family Extras
Gold Hospital with Comprehensive Extras

It's important to plan ahead if you're on a cover that doesn't already cover these services as there's a 12-month wait before you can claim.

Combining your hospital cover with our selected extras will give you access to a number of important services to keep you and your family well. And, if you're on a single or couples policy, remember to upgrade to a single parent or family policy to make sure baby's included on your cover. You can do this after baby arrives.

Tip: Before being admitted into hospital you're entitled to ask your doctor for an estimate of possible costs (called informed financial consent) and also check if they will charge you under our access gap scheme to reduce your out-of-pocket costs.

We cover wisdom teeth removal surgery as part of our general dental extras.
You can claim 100% of the cost of mouthguards at the Health Hub and our preferred providers, for up to two children each year.
Parents-to-be and new parents can access foetal screening, midwife services and lactation consultants.
If you or your children have chronic health conditions, you may be covered for screenings, monitors and other specialised equipment.
