Do you offer support for those undergoing cancer treatment?
We've partnered with Valion Health to fund this program at no extra cost to eligible members.
The Valion Health program is suitable for Union Health members diagnosed with any cancer type who:
Are currently receiving medically approved cancer treatment
Have completed treatment within the last 24 months, or
Have a diagnosis of advanced (metastatic) or incurable cancer
How does it work?
All Cancer Support Complete Program sessions are provided by the expert team at Valion Healthcare and are performed remotely, via telephone or videocall. They include sessions with expert cancer nurses, as well as with a psychologist, exercise physiologist, dietitian, or yoga therapist (depending on your preference). This program runs for 12- 16 weeks.

How will it help me?
The Cancer Support Complete Program gets results. A study on the program in 2020 showed participants report significantly less fatigue, pain, and distress. When first you join the program, your care team will work with you to create a plan that suits your needs.
You’ll learn more about the importance of good nutrition and get help to design an individual exercise program that fits in with your needs. You may also improve your understanding of cancer, its treatment and how to manage side effects.
Who can join the program?
If you are receiving treatment for cancer, our Care Coordination team may be in touch to invite you to join the program. If you have recently been diagnosed and would like to find out if the program is for you, just give us a call (1300 661 283) to chat with one of our care coordinators or email care@tuh.com.au.
To be eligible, you must also meet the following criteria:
Have hospital cover and have served your waiting periods
Be currently receiving active anti-cancer treatment, have completed treatment within the last 24 months or have a diagnosis of advanced or incurable cancer
Be aged over 18
Have a PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone with a webcam and microphone and/or telephone
What does it cost?
The Cancer Support Complete Program is fully funded by Union Health for eligible members at no additional cost. Participation in the program will not affect your premiums or your entitlements.
